After saving the Advanced Settings, you're now ready to begin the
initial sync process. Click "Next":

The device will first fetch a list of folders from the service.
While it does this, the top blue bar shown in the screen below
will advance:

If the top blue bar fails to fill in after waiting more than a minute or so
then the device has timed out. Sometimes it will report an error message at
this stage, but not always. If this happens, click "Previous" to get to the
last screen, then click "Next" again. This will usually allow the device to
complete its initial sync.

Once all the blue bars are filled, the device is in sync and you should
see the expected calendar events, contacts, tasks and email in their
respective applications:
